Family and Local History Research
by Jill Evans M.A.

I know what it is like to do research from a distance. My own ancestors come from various regions, including Buckinghamshire, Cheshire, Herefordshire, London and Scotland - and try finding a coal miner called Thomas Evans somewhere in Wales! As far as I am aware, I don't have ancestors from Gloucestershire. Frustrated at not being able to look up my own family in the local records at Gloucestershire Archives, I began doing research for others, becoming a professional researcher in 2002.

If you have ancestors from Gloucestershire, or want to find out about the history of a house, street or area in the county, but live too far or have too little spare time to do the research yourself, I can do the work for you. At Gloucestershire Archives in Gloucester, where most of the county's historical records are kept, I can consult the many sources available to help you with your research.
